My name is Gene Leonard and I'm the owner and founder of Unstoppable Greatness. Unstoppable Greatness is devoted to helping you become your best self. I help people reach their fitness goals and also help them with their mindsets by teaching them yoga and guided meditations. I'm a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a 200 Hour Vinyasa Certified Yoga Teacher.
Throughout my website you'll find the way we'll train together. The type of yoga I teach and practice. When we start training together I can also send you a Free Nutritional guideline. Nutrition is everything and I believe 85% of the game. If you live outside of Los Angeles, I do online training and can write you up programs if you're interested.
For a little background on me I didn't start lifting weights and working out until I was 20 years old. Growing up I was very active and always played in sports. I started playing soccer in kindergarten and played in college too. I also played lacrosse in high school. I never lifted weights in high school, but remained active through the sports I was playing. When I was 20 I started going to the gym and began working out for the first time with a friend. I didn't really know what I was doing and would do a lot of flat barbell bench press at the time. My chest got really developed along with the front of my shoulders and my arms too, but I needed to learn more to develop my entire body. To do this I began watching YouTube videos for hours on hours each day. I would watch people training to understand the proper form and different types of exercises I could start doing. It wasn't until I was 23 years old that I started taking my training serious. At the bottom of my website you can see a really nice one year transformation of me. It's from when I was 23 to 24 years old. In the fall of 2015 I became a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Yoga Teacher when I was 24.
Right when I got certified I started my own business. I would train clients out of my apartment complex gym in Chicago. Since I was just starting my business I was doing a very affordable rate at $20 per session and had 24 clients at one point. It was quite crazy I was training 7-8 people almost everyday. I have a different rate now, but I've been doing this for years, and it makes me really Grateful to see where I started and to see where I'm at Now.
I've also taught classes at Studios and have worked with different companies. I've taught Fitness Classes at Orange Theory, F45, Burn 60 (Los Angeles Company) and taught fitness expo classes for Polar the innovators of heart rate training. With my one on one training with clients I also specialize in Group Training as well. If you ever wanted to train with one or more of your friends we could set something up that way too! Currently I'm not teaching at any other studios and am running my company by myself. It's a lot of work but is very rewarding and I wouldn't have it any other way. For a lot of my clientele we train outdoors at Griffith Park or I can also come to them. If you have an outdoor area or a gym at your place I can come to you. I have a lot of equipment with me, battle ropes, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine ball, jump rope, and also teach all of my clients how to box, I have gloves, hand wraps, and boxing pads.
I really enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals and any goal they have in their lives. I believe the Mind, Body, and Soul are all interconnected. Once one is off it affects all the others, you want to try your best to have all three in line as frequently as possible. When I work with my new clients I help them with their fitness goals, but also teach them meditation as well too. Firstly we must work with the mind and see how someone is thinking and perceiving the world. Then the body and soul will follow. Having the body get stronger and accomplishing goals you set for yourself builds confidence. Once you have confidence and believe in yourself you can then pursue your true passions and purpose in life.

My unique type of training is going to target your full body having you progress to completing very functional exercises. Whenever I train I barely take any rests. If my legs are sore I work my back, if my back is sore I work my triceps and shoulders, if they're sore I'll work my chest. I constantly train the entire time I'm at the gym, I don't stop moving. We will start off slow and easy. Working on your stability and progressing you into completing multiple rounds of functional exercises with very little rest. With shorter recovery periods your heart rate will be in a greater range to burn more calories. All my clients gain muscle while losing fat at the same time while training with me, I 100% guarantee you will too! Every month we'll take pictures tracking your progress. I have a scale that records your body fat and breaks down your muscle composition. When we start training together don't even look at or step on your scale. Muscle weighs more than fat and there might be a chance that you gain weight while we start training together. This is actually you gaining muscle and losing fat. I teach a lot of my clients how to box too. If you've never boxed I can teach you, it's a very fun way to get the heart rate going and burn a ton of calories! I have a speaker and can play music, I'll teach you the proper technique, it's a really Great time!
The type of Yoga I teach is Vinyasa. Vinyasa means, "to place in a certain way." Also known as breath to movement. On inhalations your body will be going up and during exhalations you will be descending. Yoga is such an Amazing Beautiful Practice, I never thought I would be a teacher. I've Very Grateful it came into my life, and would love to teach it to you and all its Benefits. It will help with your overall body awareness, flexibility, posture, and also allow you to become more present in your everyday life. I practice yoga and meditate everyday, it is something that has helped me so much. I have some private clients whose homes I teach them yoga to, and other clients meet me at Griffith Park.
When it comes to nutrition think of it as the "fuel" you're putting into your body. Eating vegetables, fruits, and dark leafy greens will give your body the nutrients and enzymes it needs to function at it's Best. Having the proper nutrition not only affects your body, but also your mind and brain. You want to set yourself up for success before you train. If you consume poor food choices it will leave you feeling sluggish and depleted. Which will affect your training ability and ultimately your results. Once you start training with me I can send you a Free nutritional guideline to help you achieve the best results and feel really good. I believe it is 85% Nutrition and 15% Training. Nutrition plays such a huge role in how you live, but it also helps you aid in recover and is necessary for achieving your fitness goals and sustaining a long healthy life.
Growing up I was very active playing soccer and lacrosse. However, I never lifted weights in my early years. It wasn't until I was 20 years old when I picked up my first set of dumbbells. I would YouTube videos of people working out, to understand various exercises. Then I would practice them on myself at the gym. I would spend hours watching people train online, to understand the movements and proper technique.
The picture above is a one year transformation. The image on the left is right after I got through the hardest experience of my life and is something that really shaped me to the person I am today. I really like looking at these pictures because they are the Beginning, we All start somewhere. They also show me what can happen with a Focused Determined Mindset, and an Unstoppable Drive. I always wanted a big back and really added width to my back, also have some great muscle gains in my chest, waist, abdominals, and obliques!
The reason why I became a personal trainer, fitness coach, and yoga instructor is because I love helping people. We're all the same, and usually going to the gym for the first time is the scariest step. Whenever I see a younger person in the gym doing an exercise incorrectly I try my Best to help them. I love movement and if I become injured and can't move I become very sad and depressed. This is why I'm so critical and cautious on form, I'm all about adding longevity and life to our lives.
